CMC GSE collaborates with Malaysian NGO to conduct International Community Immersion and Social Action for Rohingya Refugee children

The Central Mindanao Colleges through its Graduate School Education Program and Center for International Affairs and Linkages collaborated with Pertubuhan Pemuda GEMA Malaysia, more known as GEMA Youth to support the needs of Rohingya Refugee Children in Malaysia through the PagamUmmah Beyond PH: International Community Immersion and Social Action last June 12, 2024 at the Maahad Tahfiz Madinatul Ulum, Sri Kembangan, Selangor, Malaysia.

A delegation of 18 CMC administrators, Graduate School students and staff allocated a portion of their International Academic and Cultural Exchange (I ACE) Program in Malaysia to be with the refugee children and facilitate learning activities to contribute in the numeracy and literacy programs being organized by GEMA Youth under their Pusat Tuisyen Ikhlas Project.

Prior to the visit, CMC’s partner, GEMA Youth headed by their President Mohammad Amar bin Masuri conducted a needs assessment in the community as a reference in the purchase of food and appliances which were also donated to address the needs by the children.

This initiative is also in line with the observance of the World Refugee Day and Eid’l Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) of our Muslim brothers and sisters.
