Central Mindanao Colleges, Philippines, embarks on academic internationalization with the launching of its Center for International Affairs and Linkages on October 21, 2022, with a formal proceeding attended by the Deans, Program Heads, unit heads, and the CMCian community composed of the students, faculty, and staff.

The virtual launch highlighted the theme, CMC and BEYOND: Bolstering External Relations, Yielding Outcomes, and Nurturing Development through Strengthened Academic and Non-Academic Internationalization and Multisectoral Linkages.

Dr. Nelia A. Alibin, Regional Director of the Commission on Higher Education Office XII, was present to deliver her message of support for the CMC’s internationalization endeavor.

The Center for International Affairs and Linkages (CIAL) Logo was unveiled by Mr. Erolle Linus T. Miranda, the Institutional Marketing, Communications, and Creative Officer, to kick off the CIAL launching. Following his speech, Dr. Mark Gennesis B. Dela Cerna, the newly appointed director of the new office, officially launched it by outlining its direction, goals, and objectives. After the official opening, Dr. Erwin Faller, Director of Interlink at San Pedro College and a well-known researcher and supporter of internationalization in Davao City, gave a topic presentation on the Policy Framework and Strategies for the Internationalization of Philippine Higher Education.

As a unit spearheading the internationalization of CMC, CIAL aligns its program thrusts with CHED, in conformance to CMO No. 55, series of 2016. As a progressive approach, CIAL shall initiate a home-based or campus-based internationalization approach aligning the institutional curriculum with international contents. The unit also aims to promote multiculturalism and diversity across international partners, while being adherent to the school’s MISSION.

The ACSCU-ACI Executive Director Dr. Angelito Pedreno gave his virtual message of support to the CMCian community.
