CMC Triumphs with 16 Medals at the 8th Governor’s Karatedo Tournament

Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC) achieved a significant triumph at the 8th Governor Emmylou “Lala” Taliño Mendoza Open Invitational Karatedo Tournament held at the Capitol Gymnasium in Amas, Kidapawan City on August 28, 2023. Competing against 21 teams from Mindanao, CMC’s athletes showcased exceptional skills, resulting in the acquisition of 16 medals.

In the Women’s Individual Kumite division, Geneth Rose Ulog secured the Gold medal, while Charmae Dale Catague earned a Bronze medal. The Men’s Team Kumite garnered an impressive Silver medal, with outstanding performances from team members Moharis Katog, Micho Bryan Jay Geollegue, Jayphol Bañaria, John Tausi, Lorenzo Luis Laboriante, and Carlh Patrick E. Catotal.

Equally remarkable, the Women’s Team Kumite also secured a Silver medal, attributed to the skillful contributions of Charmae Dale Catague, Geneth Rose Ulog, Regine Cabillan, and Gerrosel Magdamo. In the Men’s Individual Kumite category, Moharis Taguitican Katog, Lorenzo Luis Laboriante, and Carlh Patrick E. Catotal displayed their prowess, earning Bronze, Silver, and Bronze medals respectively.

Gerrosel III T. Magdamo excelled in the Individual Advance Kata (Women) category, earning a well-deserved Bronze medal.

CMC Coach Angelyn A. Garcia, RCrim expressed gratitude to the CMC School Administrators for their unwavering support, enabling the team’s participation in the tournament. She praised the athletes for their dedication and hard work, highlighting their contribution to the school, family, and friends. Coach Garcia encouraged the athletes to pursue their aspirations, highlighting their commendable passion for the sport.
