CMC CCJE Host Successful Criminal Justice Educators

Regional Assembly 2024

Kidapawan City, May 18-19, 2024 – Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC) recently hosted the highly successful Regional Assembly of Criminal Justice Educators in Region XII, organized by the Regional Office 12 Council of Deans in Criminal Justice Education (CDCJE-RXII). The event, themed “Building Bridges: Collaborating for Excellence,” brought together criminal justice educators from across the region for two days of insightful presentations, discussions, and workshops aimed at enhancing collaboration and excellence in education.

The event commenced with welcome remarks by Dr. Rolando Poblador, RCrim, President of CDCJE-R12, setting a collaborative and enthusiastic tone. Dr. Melvie F. Bayog, RCrim, Secretary of CDCJE-R12, followed with an enlightening explanation of the event’s rationale, emphasizing the importance of unity and shared goals in criminal justice education. Dr. Marnie J. Besas, RCrim, Vice President of CDCJE-R12, presented an orientation on the enhanced Test of Standards (TOS), re-echoing crucial considerations. Dr. Ruby L. Tamayo, RCrim, Adviser of CDCJE-R12, discussed the rules on test question formulation based on the 2024 Enhanced TOS, providing valuable guidelines for educators.

The second session focused on mental health awareness with a lecture-workshop on Psychological First Aid (PFA) for academic leaders, conducted by Elnie D. Calunsag, RPsy, RPm, CSU Program Head of the Psychology Department, and Maria Fe S. Mahinay, RGC, RPm, Director of the NDMC Guidance and Testing Center. This workshop equipped deans, program heads, and faculty with essential skills to address mental health issues within their institutions, promoting a supportive and healthy educational environment.

CMC through the College of Criminal Justice Education is proud to have hosted this important event, reinforcing its commitment to advancing the skills and knowledge of criminal justice educators in Region XII.
