CMC Showcases Internationalization Initiatives at ASEAN 2023

Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC) takes the spotlight at the ASEAN Expo 2023 with groundbreaking internationalization efforts. CMC was chosen by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region XII to showcase its work in internationalization, research, and partnerships at the 2023 Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Expo.

This three-day event, held from September 12 to 14,2023 brought together HEI representatives from different provinces, including North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, General Santos, and Saranggani at the KCC Mall of Marbel Convention Center.

The CMCian delegation was headed by CMC’s School President Dr. Cynthia S. Asuncion, along with the Center for International Affairs and Linkages staff Ms. Anngilica Gallano-Banga, and Student Leaders from the CMC Passionate Individuals for Responsive & Strategic Internationalization towards Sustainable Development in Mindanao (CMC PRISM ), a registered youth organization under the Office of Student Affairs and Services.

The ASEAN Expo 2023 was a global stage where international initiatives, matters of international importance, and connections between nations were highlighted. It celebrated progress, innovation, and cooperation, demonstrating the region’s commitment to creating a sustainable and prosperous future for all.

The Expo’s theme, “ASEAN Matters: Epicenter of Growth,” encapsulated the ASEAN region’s vision of sustainable development, cultural preservation, and social inclusion, all essential for achieving sustainability.

The ASEAN Expo 2023 was a success story, showcasing the ASEAN region’s dedication to sustainability and innovation, along with the challenges and future developments in global partnerships. It also served as a reminder and a call to action for the international community to collaborate in creating a more sustainable future for everyone.

CMC’s participation in this event not only highlighted its internationalization initiatives but also highlights its commitment to these initiatives.

As CMC continues to expand its global reach and collaborations, it remains a driving force in shaping a brighter future, not only for its students and community but for the entire ASEAN region and the world.
