Preparation becomes powerful when students are
given the opportunity to put knowledge into practice, face professional
expectations, and discover how ready they are to take the next step.
KIDAPAWAN CITY, COTABATO, August 14, 2026. Central
Mindanao Colleges (CMC) culminated STEP UP: Career Readiness for Future Civil
Engineers and Physical Educators with a Job Interview Simulation, transforming
three days of professional learning into a practical test of communication,
confidence, professional presence, and workplace readiness.
The culminating session moved participants from
career preparation to simulated professional experience. Before facing the
interview panel, students received a briefing on job interview guidelines,
proper attire, professional etiquette, and evaluation criteria, providing them
with essential expectations for presenting themselves effectively in actual
employment settings.
Separate interview simulations were conducted for
Civil Engineering and Physical Education applicants, allowing participants to
experience profession-relevant interview situations. The activity concluded
with feedback, assessment, and sharing of interview insights, giving students
an opportunity to identify strengths and areas requiring further development.
Day 3 completed a comprehensive career-readiness
journey that began with pre-employment orientation, employment coaching, labor
education, and occupational safety and health, followed by stress management
and profession-specific career preparation, before culminating in applied
interview practice.
Through STEP UP 2026, CMC reinforced an important
dimension of education: preparing students not only to graduate, but to
communicate their competence, demonstrate professionalism, respond confidently
under pressure, and transition responsibly into the world of work. The program
specifically seeks to strengthen the career readiness and employability of
future Civil Engineers and Physical Educators through comprehensive
professional preparation.
The initiative advances SDG 3: Good Health and
Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth,
and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
The real test of readiness begins when preparation
meets opportunity. STEP UP equips CMCians to face that moment not with
uncertainty, but with competence, confidence, and purpose.
Prepare with Purpose. Perform with Confidence. STEP
UP for the Future.
Choose CMC, where excellence roars.
