Central Mindanao Colleges underwent the
Outstanding Health Promotion Integrated NSTP Program for Academic Year (A.Y.)
2025–2026 Validation, bringing its National Service Training Program’s health
promotion initiatives under onsite assessment by Department of Health (DOH)
evaluators.
The validation focused on the
implementation and documentation of CMC’s health promotion efforts through
NSTP, providing evaluators an opportunity to examine how the program translates
health advocacy, student participation, and community-oriented service into
meaningful initiatives.
Mr. Mark Rey A. Ampuan, LPT, CSA/NSTP
Coordinator, led the CMC NSTP team during the validation, presenting the
program’s implementation and supporting documents for review. His coordination
helped provide the evaluators with a comprehensive view of the program’s
activities and efforts throughout S.Y. 2025–2026.
The activity also featured Dr. Cynthia
Asuncion during the opening segment, while Mr. Arjohn C. Gangoso, RN, MPH, MNE,
HEPO III, delivered the statement of purpose, emphasizing the significance of
the validation in assessing the NSTP program’s health promotion initiatives.
During the onsite validation, DOH
evaluators and the NSTP team reviewed relevant documents, assessed the
program’s implementation, and exchanged observations and recommendations.
Beyond compliance and documentation, the process highlighted NSTP’s role in
developing students who connect learning with civic responsibility and
community engagement while promoting the health and well-being of their
communities.
The validation likewise reflects CMC’s
commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly
SDG 3 on Good Health and Well-Being through health promotion and awareness. It
also supports SDG 4 on Quality Education through student learning, SDG 10 on
Reduced Inequalities through inclusive health initiatives, and SDG 17 on
Partnerships for the Goals through collaboration with health and community
stakeholders.
As the validation concluded with feedback
and a photo opportunity involving the evaluators, NSTP team, and participants,
CMC reaffirmed its continuing commitment to strengthening health promotion as
an integral part of student formation and community service.
