On August 21, 2024, Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC)has hosted a significant send-off ceremony for Ms. Keilah Cane and Mr. Jhomel Sansolis, who are embarking on prestigious international academic journeys through the LIYAG International Academic and Cultural Exchange (I ACE) Program. This event highlights CMCโs dedication to student success, pursuit of quality and excellence, and global engagement.
Mr. Mark Anthony Mutia, President of PRISM, emphasized the eventโs significance, stating, โThis send-off is a testament to CMCโs commitment to nurturing students who excel both academically and globally. Keilahโs and Jhomelโs participation in the LIYAG I ACE Program reflects our mission to develop graduates who are prepared to lead and thrive in an interconnected world.โ
Director Erolle Linus T. Miranda of the Student Success Center delivered a compelling message, saying, โToday, we celebrate the power of dreams and the boundless potential within each of you. As you embark on this journey, remember that your leadership and innovation will guide you. Embrace every challenge with courage and adaptability. Carry forward the values of excellence and commitment youโve embraced at CMC, and let them shine throughout your international experience.โ
School President Dr. Cynthia S. Asuncion offered words of encouragement, stating, โYou are the torchbearers of Excellence. Carry our CMCIan torch with pride as you make your mark on the global stage. Your journey will be a testament to the transformative power of education and the boundless opportunities that await those who strive for greatness.โ
Ms. Julie Mae Fuentes from the CIAL staff provided an insightful overview of the exchange programs, highlighting the quality opportunities awaiting the students in Indonesia and Singapore. Her presentation highlighted how these experiences align with CMCโs dedication to internationalization and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Both Keilah and Jhomel expressed deep gratitude to CMC, the organizers, and their peers. They pledged to represent CMC and the Philippines with pride. Dr. Mark Gennesis B. Dela Cerna, Director of CIAL, presented symbolic clocks to the students, representing the institutionโs enduring support and the reminder that they are always part of the CMC family.
The ceremony concluded with Dr. Maria Regina E. Carlos, Dean of the College of Accountancy, Business Management Education, reaffirming the importance of internationalization in enhancing educational quality. She noted, โTodayโs send-off reaffirms our commitment to student success and excellence. This milestone reflects our dedication to preparing students to excel globally and embrace every opportunity.โ
A representative from the Kidapawan City Tourism Office attended the event, highlighting community support for the studentsโ international endeavors. This partnership has emphasized Kidapawan Cityโs commitment to providing global opportunities for its youth.
Student leaders also shared their well-wishes, reflecting a collective pride and commitment to excellence. Their messages served as an inspiration to embrace every opportunity and approach international experiences with the highest standards of success.
The send-off event was organized by PRISM (Passionate Individuals for Responsive & Strategic Internationalization towards Sustainable Development in Mindanao) and the College of Accountancy, Business Management Education Student Council.
