On April 3, 2023, the CMC Junior Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines (JPCAP) successfully organized an event called “Panagduyog” at the Kidapawan City Gymnasium.
Close to 1,300 CCJE students, faculty members, guests and heads from the CMC Administration attended the said event. The event aimed to encourage CCJE students to actively participate in various academic and socio-cultural competitions and to promote a sense of community and camaraderie among them.
The theme of the event, “Criminology Students Strive to Compete Academically Beyond Recovery,” was inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean concept, emphasizing the importance of academic and professional “engagement”.
The CMC Junior Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines (JPCAP) Day celebrated excellence and dedication in the field of criminology and reflected the college’s commitment to producing socially responsible and competent individuals through holistic education and engagement.
The event featured a variety of activities, including Pasidungog, which recognized Dean’s Listers and passers of the 2022 Criminologist Licensure Examination (CLE). The oath-taking of new JPCAP members emphasized the students’ commitment to the profession. Dr. Marnie J. Besas, RCRIM, PCAP Region 12 Governor, and CCJE Dean of Ramon Magsaysay Memorial College, was also a guest speaker at the event.
The academic competitions and the Search for CMC JPCAP Ambassadors 2023 were highly anticipated, motivating participants to excel and bring honor to their respective teams. Sharmine Alcoriza, a CCJE sophomore student, and Mikhael Aranda, a CCJE senior student, were crowned as the CMC JPCAP Ambassadors for 2023.
The event provided a platform for CCJE students to actively engage in academic and socio-cultural competitions, promoting their welfare through various activities while fostering a sense of community and camaraderie. It also exemplified the college’s dedication to holistic education, academic excellence, and engagement, aligning with its mission, vision, and values.
It is worth noting that the Bachelor of Science in Criminology program recently received Level III Accreditation Status from ACSCU-ACI. CMC’s accreditation indicates that the program has met rigorous standards of quality education, providing students with a high-quality education, and equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to become highly competent individuals in the field of criminology.
The success of the event was attributed to the collective efforts of a group of individuals, including CMC JPCAP President Reyanne Lou Palencia, the CMC JPCAP officers, CMC JPCAP adviser Irene Soledad, CCJE College Dean Dr. Rolando Poblador, and the support of CMC management.
The CMC Junior Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines (JPCAP) Day attested to the college’s commitment to excellence in education, which was made possible by the active involvement and support of its students, CMC management, and the members of the CCJE faculty.
