Hiraya Manawari: Bagong Yugto

The transition from student to professional is shaped not only by learning but by guidance, trust, and the people who stand behind every milestone.

Hiraya Manawari: Bagong Yugto marked a defining moment for the fourth-year students of the College of Accountancy and Business Management Education (CABME) of Central Mindanao Colleges, as they formally stepped into professional practice through the Pinning and Coating Ceremony held on December 15, 2025, at Eva’s Hotel, Kidapawan City.

Anchored on the theme “Empowering Business Leaders for a Borderless Future,” the ceremony symbolized readiness, responsibility, and the resolve to translate classroom learning into real-world impact. Significantly, the event introduced the first-ever Coating Ceremony of CABME, elevating the program’s professional rites and formally marking students’ readiness to assume workplace responsibilities with dignity and accountability.

Ms. Helna D. Sumugat, School Registrar, formally presented the candidates, followed by Dr. Cynthia S. Asuncion, School President, who accepted them and affirmed institutional trust.

A central highlight of the ceremony was the Inspirational Talk delivered by the Guest Speaker, Ms. Gillan Ray T. Lonzaga-Malulan, LPT, MPA, Acting Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officer of the Local Government Unit of Kidapawan City. Drawing from her extensive background in public service, education, tourism, and economic development, she emphasized resilience, ethical decision-making, adaptability, and public-minded leadership as essential qualities for future business leaders navigating a rapidly evolving and borderless professional landscape. She left the interns with a stirring reminder “Drench yourself in words unspoken. Live your life with arms wide open. Today is where your story begins, the rest is still unwritten. As you step into this new chapter, always believe. Future leaders, go and make your story a powerful one. Roar, CMC.”

Further strengthening the academic structure of the internship program was the Induction of Program Internship Coordinators per Business Program, led by Dr. Mark Gennesis B. Dela Cerna, Vice President for Academic Affairs. He emphasized that internship is where theory meets responsibility, affirming the institution’s commitment to structured mentorship, academic accountability, and the preparation of students for meaningful participation in professional environments.

The ceremony was made especially meaningful through the active involvement of parents and guardians, who participated in the Pinning and Coating of the interns. Their presence highlighted the vital role of families as partners in education, symbolizing shared responsibility, trust, and unwavering support as students transition from campus life to professional practice.

The Induction of the CABME Intern Officers was led by the Center for Student Success Coordinator Ms. Katherine Mae Abayabay that emphasized leadership, professionalism, and service.

Designed in CMC’s signature deep blue and accented with indigenous patterns, the CABME coat embodied a fusion of academic identity, cultural heritage, and modern professionalism. As pins were fastened and coats were worn, interns were reminded that excellence is not merely achieved but lived, carried forward into every decision, responsibility, and opportunity beyond the classroom.

Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4 on Quality Education, the program reaffirmed the role of education in unlocking lifelong learning and global competence. It likewise advanced Sustainable Development Goal 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth by preparing students for productive employment and ethical professional practice, while strengthening Sustainable Development Goal 17 on Partnerships for the Goals through collaboration among students, families, academic leaders, industry partners, and local government.

As the interns embrace this new chapter, they do so with confidence, gratitude, and a shared commitment to lead beyond boundaries. The future of business leadership begins here, rooted in vision, strengthened by learning, and driven by purpose.

Choose excellence. Choose leadership. Choose Central Mindanao Colleges.
