Because
student well-being is the foundation of true success, Central Mindanao Colleges
strengthened its commitment to student wellness and campus safety through its
participation in the Regional Conference on Fostering Drug-Free and Mentally
Healthy Higher Education Institutions, organized by the Commission on Higher
Education Regional Office XII and held on December 15, 2025, in Koronadal City.
The conference brought together higher education institutions across the region
to advance collaborative strategies that promote mental health, resilience, and
drug prevention in academic settings.
Representing
Central Mindanao Colleges was Ms. Trisha Karl J. Rellon, Officer of the CMC
Center for Student Success, who actively engaged in discussions and learning
sessions focused on building safe, supportive, and inclusive campus
environments.
Expert-led
talks, interactive workshops, and open forums emphasized the integration of
mental wellness initiatives with drug prevention programs, the development of
student life skills and resilience, and the strengthening of institutional
systems that prioritize holistic student growth.
CMC’s
participation highlights its proactive role in advancing student-centered
services, reinforcing mental health support mechanisms, and aligning
institutional practices with national and regional wellness frameworks.
This
initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals,
particularly SDG 3 Good Health and Well-Being, SDG 4 Quality Education, SDG 16
Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, and SDG 17 Partnerships for the Goals,
by strengthening collaboration among higher education institutions, government
agencies, and stakeholders in building drug-free and mentally healthy campuses.
Through
continued collaboration with CHEDRO XII and partner institutions, Central
Mindanao Colleges remains steadfast in developing a campus culture where care,
collaboration, and commitment empower students to thrive academically and
personally.
CHOOSE CMC,
where care shapes minds, collaboration builds strength, and wellness empowers
future leaders.
