Central
Mindanao Colleges proudly celebrates the participation of CMC Himig Pawan in
SIDLAK: World Choral Day, The Festival Concert, held on December 12 to 14,
2025, in Davao City. The three-day festival brought together choirs from across
Mindanao and the Philippines in a powerful celebration of unity, artistry, and
the enduring power of choral music.
As
part of this nationally and internationally recognized event, Himig Pawan
joined voices with distinguished ensembles in honoring World Choral Day through
music and fellowship.
Himig
Pawan’s participation was made possible through the strong support of the CMC
Institute for Culture and the Arts, headed by Director Madame Marivic Quiambao
Pascual, whose leadership continues to nurture artistic excellence and cultural
expression among CMCians.
The
choir was honored to be part of the SIDLAK Festival Chorus and to have an
opportunity to meet and take photos with the National Artist of the Philippines
for Music, Maestro Ryan Cayabyab, whose presence inspired choristers and
affirmed the role of music as a unifying and transformative force.
Beyond
the grand Festival Concert on December 14, 2025, Himig Pawan actively
participated in the SIDLAK Masterclass and Workshop Series held on December 12
and 13 at Christ Fellowship Church. These sessions included vocalization and
ensemble workshops, advanced singing techniques, score study and repertoire
programming, choral management and digitalization, and mentoring sessions led
by respected choral leaders such as Prof. Mark Anthony Carpio, Dr. Joel
Navarro, and Mr. Jonathan Velasco. Through these learning experiences, Himig
Pawan strengthened both musical skill and artistic discipline, embodying CMC’s
commitment to cultural growth and excellence.
Padayon, CMC
Himig Pawan!
