CMC Backs Karate Athletes for Philippine International Open

Athletes compete with greater confidence when preparation is strengthened by training, institutional support, and a community that believes in their potential.

Central Mindanao Colleges, through the Center for Athletic Development (CAD), extended support to its student-athletes and coaches as they prepared to represent CMC in the 7th Manuel Veguillas Philippine International Open Karate Championships 2026 and Joint Training Camp.

As part of its commitment to athlete readiness, CAD provided allowances and other essential needs to support the delegation’s preparation for the international competition. The initiative recognizes that strong performance is shaped not only by technical training, but also by the resources and support that allow athletes to focus on competing at their best.

The assistance also reflects the shared commitment of CMC Management and supporting offices and personnel in creating opportunities for student-athletes to train, compete, and represent the institution with confidence and pride.

Beyond competition, the championship and joint training camp provide valuable opportunities for athletes to sharpen their skills, strengthen resilience, gain wider competitive exposure, and learn from other karate practitioners.

The initiative advances SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being through sports participation and physical development, and SDG 4: Quality Education through discipline, experiential learning, and holistic student formation.

At CMC, the Center for Athletic Development continues to invest in student-athletes by strengthening the support system behind every training session and competition. As the delegation steps onto a wider sporting stage, they carry not only their individual goals, but the discipline, confidence, and pride of the CMC community.
