KALMAsean 2026 Strengthens CGST’s Commitment to Employee Well-Being

A supportive workplace begins when employee well-being is treated as an essential part of institutional care and professional effectiveness.

KIDAPAWAN CITY, COTABATO, August 14, 2026 — Central Mindanao Colleges, through the Center for Guidance Services and Testing (CGST), conducted KALMAsean: Care Beyond Borders: Empowering CMC Employees through Stress Management at the CMC Accreditation Room.

Held in celebration of ASEAN Month 2026, the seminar-workshop focused on workplace stress, resilience, self-care, and healthy coping strategies. It aimed to help employees recognize common stressors, understand their effects, and apply practical approaches that support both personal well-being and professional performance.

Serving as resource speaker was John Leonard H. Latido, MPsy, RPm, CHRA, a Registered Psychometrician and Certified Human Resource Associate with expertise in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, employee well-being, conflict management, and resilience-building.

Through interactive discussions, self-assessment activities, relaxation techniques, and resilience exercises, participants were encouraged to strengthen self-awareness, workplace relationships, and positive work-life practices.

CMC School President Dr. Cynthia S. Asuncion emphasized the importance of caring for employees as part of building a stronger institution.

“When we care for the well-being of our employees, we strengthen the entire CMC community. A resilient institution begins with people who feel supported, valued, and empowered to serve with purpose,” Dr. Asuncion shared.

KALMAsean was spearheaded by the CGST team composed of Renz Wally C. Amualla, MPsy, RPm; Eugine Bacumo, RPm; Irish Dane Labajo, RPm; and Lovely Mae Cabanlig, reflecting the Center’s continuing role in promoting psychological well-being, resilience, and a supportive workplace environment.

The initiative advanced SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being by promoting mental and emotional wellness among employees.

At CMC, the Center for Guidance Services and Testing goes beyond responding to concerns. It helps build a culture where employees are supported, resilience is strengthened, and well-being becomes part of everyday institutional life.
