CMC MBA Scholars Turn Learning into Humanitarian Action

In celebration of World Humanitarian Day 2026, CMC affirms a powerful truth: knowledge acquires greater meaning when it is used to protect dignity, respond to human needs, and serve communities with compassion.

Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC), through its Master in Business Administration (MBA) Scholars, participated in the Serbisyong Totoo Medical Outreach of the Provincial Government of Cotabato in Barangay Mateo, Kidapawan City, demonstrating how graduate education can extend beyond academic competence toward humanitarian service and meaningful community engagement. The participation takes on deeper significance in the observance of World Humanitarian Day on August 19, a global occasion that honors those who serve people in need and calls for stronger collective action in defense of humanity.

Conducted under the Serbisyong Totoo advocacy of Governor Emmylou “Lala” J. Taliño-Mendoza, the outreach brought healthcare services closer to the community with the support of Barangay Chairman Arcelo Coresis, barangay officials, Mayor Cris Cadungon of Antipas, and Mr. Jonnel Didal, MedCap Head of Serbisyong Totoo. Their coordinated involvement reflected one of the enduring principles of humanitarian action: meaningful service becomes stronger when institutions, leaders, volunteers, and communities work together toward human well-being.

Led by Mr. Perfecto III Flores Raagas, Team Leader, the CMC MBA Scholars translated classroom preparation into actual service through teamwork, communication, coordination, and shared responsibility. More importantly, the experience strengthened their understanding that management leadership is not confined to organizations and enterprises. It also requires empathy, ethical judgment, responsiveness, and the willingness to place human needs at the center of decision-making. In this sense, community engagement became part of student success itself, developing scholars not only as competent professionals, but as socially responsible leaders.

Aligned with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, the engagement reflects CMC’s commitment to education that creates both professional competence and social impact.

On World Humanitarian Day, CMC celebrates leadership that does more than manage resources. It recognizes needs, mobilizes people, protects dignity, and acts with humanity. For CMC scholars, success becomes greater when learning becomes service and leadership becomes a force for others.
