CMC MBA Scholars Advance Humanitarian Service Through Serbisyong Totoo
In the spirit of World Humanitarian Day 2026, Central Mindanao
Colleges affirms that education becomes more meaningful when knowledge,
leadership, and compassion are translated into service that protects dignity
and responds to real community needs.
On August 20, 2026, Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC), through
its Master in Business Administration (MBA) Scholars, continued its support for
the Serbisyong Totoo Medical Outreach in Malasila, Makilala, Cotabato, giving
graduate students another meaningful opportunity to connect academic
preparation with humanitarian service and community engagement. Held a day
after the global observance of World Humanitarian Day on August 19, the
outreach carried forward its spirit by placing compassion, service, and collective
responsibility into action.
The initiative was conducted through the leadership of Governor
Emmylou “Lala” J. Taliño-Mendoza and the Provincial Government of Cotabato,
whose Serbisyong Totoo advocacy continues to bring healthcare services closer
to communities. CMC likewise extends its appreciation to Vice Mayor Ryan
Tabanay, Councilor Kristine Ang, Councilor Romnick Cabaron, Provincial Advisory
Council member Toto Villasor, and Barangay Chairman Jeckery Pontesor of
Malasila for their support and warm reception. Recognition is also extended to
Mr. Jonnel Didal, MedCap Head of Serbisyong Totoo, for his leadership and
coordination in the conduct of the medical outreach.
For the CMC MBA Scholars, the experience became an important
dimension of student success through community engagement. Guided by Mr.
Perfecto III Flores Raagas, MBA Scholars Team Leader, the students contributed
their time and energy while strengthening competencies in teamwork,
communication, coordination, responsibility, and ethical leadership. More
significantly, they experienced firsthand that effective management is not
confined to organizational systems and decision-making. It also involves understanding
people, responding to needs, building partnerships, and mobilizing collective
action for the common good.
Aligned with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, SDG 4: Quality
Education, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, the engagement demonstrates
how service learning can deepen professional formation while creating
meaningful community impact.
As CMC carries forward the spirit of World Humanitarian Day, it
celebrates leadership that places humanity at its center. When students learn
to serve, collaborate, and respond with compassion, education becomes more than
preparation for a profession. It becomes preparation for purposeful leadership.
