CMC steps forward with CHED RO XII in reimagining well-being, safety, and human-centered learning in higher education.

Healthy minds. Safe spaces. Future-ready learners.

Central Mindanao Colleges participated in the Zonal Public Orientation on CHED Memorandum Order No. 5, s. 2026, “Pathway to Health and Well-being in Higher Education,” held on May 7, 2026, at Greenleaf Hotel, General Santos City.

The regional orientation gathered higher education institutions across Mindanao to strengthen institutional responses on mental health, safe spaces, student protection, HIV and AIDS awareness, substance-use prevention, and holistic wellness. More than a policy dialogue, the activity highlighted a growing reality in education: students thrive best in environments where care, protection, and learning coexist.

Representing CMC was Mr. Renz Wally C. Amualla, MPsy, RPm, from the Center for Guidance Services and Testing (CGST), one of the specialized centers under the Institute for Support Services (ISS), the institutional body that coordinates, manages, and strengthens student and employee support systems across the College.

Through its specialized centers and student-centered initiatives, the Institute for Support Services continues to advance holistic development, wellness responsiveness, guidance and counseling support, accessible services, and inclusive learning environments that empower every CMCian to grow academically, emotionally, socially, and professionally.

During the orientation, Mr. Amualla joined collaborative discussions on building more responsive, inclusive, and human-centered academic communities. He also shared how CMC continues to create meaningful opportunities for professional growth, continuous learning, and purposeful engagement, reflecting an institutional culture that values both competence and compassion.

CMC’s participation reflects its continuing commitment to transformative education grounded in wellness, inclusivity, and human-centered leadership. As education continues to evolve, the institution remains committed to creating spaces where learners are not only academically prepared, but also mentally supported, socially empowered, and genuinely heard.

Because in today’s world, excellence is no longer measured by achievement alone, but also by how institutions care for the people behind the success.

Aligned with Sustainable Development Goals on Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3) and Quality Education (SDG 4), Central Mindanao Colleges continues to move toward a future where education is both excellent and deeply human.
