CMC Graduate School of Education Brings 52 MAEd Students to Da Nang, Vietnam for International Learning Experience

The Central Mindanao Colleges Graduate School of Education (CMC-GSE) brings 52 Master of Arts in Education (MAEd) students to Da Nang, Vietnam for an International Learning Experience: Educational and Cultural Immersion from April 23 to 28, 2026, strengthening global academic exposure and cultural understanding among graduate learners.

The five-day international activity provides graduate students with an immersive learning opportunity that enhances academic knowledge, deepens cultural awareness, and strengthens global collaboration.

The international learning experience exposes participants to educational practices and innovations of institutions in Da Nang that contribute to the advancement of quality education. It also allows students to observe sustainable urban development initiatives and appreciate cultural heritage sites that promote sustainable cities and communities. The program further builds academic and cultural linkages that strengthen international partnerships and open opportunities for future collaboration in education and research.

The delegation arrives at Da Nang International Airport and proceeds to APEC Park for a brief visit. The group continues with lunch and visits the historic Da Nang Cathedral for sightseeing. The day concludes with dinner and hotel check-in.

Participants travel to Ba Na Hills via cable car, explore the French Village, and visit the iconic Golden Bridge, one of Vietnam’s most recognized landmarks. The group also visits a local mini-supermarket before returning for dinner and hotel check-in.

The cultural immersion continues with visits to the Son Tra Peninsula, including Linh Ung Pagoda and the renowned Lady Buddha. The group proceeds to Canaan Island for a Coconut Boat Ride and explores Hoi An Ancient Town, known for its preserved heritage and cultural richness, before returning to Da Nang.

A major highlight of the program features benchmarking at the University of Danang, where participants observe educational systems, institutional practices, and learning innovations that contribute to international standards in graduate education.

Dr. Gemma N. Kintanar, Dean of the Graduate School of Education, emphasizes that the international learning experience strengthens the preparation of graduate students for global academic engagement and professional leadership.

“This international learning experience is more than an academic tour. It is a purposeful immersion that allows our graduate students to learn from global educational environments, appreciate cultural diversity, and build linkages that strengthen future collaboration in education and research,” Dr. Kintanar says.

CMC-GSE continues to promote international learning engagements that broaden academic perspectives and strengthen cultural understanding among future educators. The program supports SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by advancing global education exposure and strengthening international partnerships.
