Demonstrating
its commitment to practical education and social impact, the College of
Accountancy and Business Management Education (CABME) of Central Mindanao
Colleges (CMC) conducted a community extension program in Brgy. Nuangan,
Kidapawan City on March 18, 2026. The initiative, titled Project RE:FILL under
ENTRE-CARE: Empowering Communities Through Marketing Strategies and Financial
Literacy for Sustainable Enterprise Development, showcased CABME’s dedication
to turning theoretical knowledge into tangible business empowerment.
The
program featured a two-session seminar for sari-sari store owners. The first
session focused on effective marketing strategies to enhance customer
engagement, while the second session emphasized financial literacy, including
budgeting, saving, and proper financial management. CABME interns facilitated
interactive exercises to ensure participants could immediately apply these
strategies to their businesses.
Through
this initiative, participants gained practical skills to improve business
operations, make informed financial decisions, and strengthen their
entrepreneurial mindset. Common challenges in marketing and financial
management were addressed, equipping participants with tools to generate
sustainable income and foster long-term business growth. Project RE:FILL
translated theoretical knowledge into actionable impact.
CABME
faculty mentors guided the interns throughout the program, ensuring a seamless
learning experience for participants. The initiative highlighted CABME’s
leadership in promoting community-based educational programs that drive growth,
opportunity, and empowerment, while strengthening ties with the local
community.
Aligned
with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Project RE:FILL promotes
SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 1: No Poverty, and SDG 17:
Partnerships for the Goals. Through programs like this, CABME continues to lead
in practical education that benefits communities.
