Facilities, Safety, and Risk Centers Complete Accreditation Review

As operational environments grow more complex and compliance expectations continue to rise, the Center for Facilities and Safety Operations and the Center for Security and Risk Oversight successfully completed a comprehensive accreditation review on January 21, 2026 reaffirming their commitment to effective management, regulatory compliance, and excellence in service delivery.

The accreditation review involved a structured assessment of internal processes and institutional policies to ensure alignment with established standards for facilities management, safety operations, and security oversight. Key areas of focus included governance controls, policy implementation, operational readiness, and inter-departmental coordination.

The review was led by Engr. Bjern Loaña, Mr. Christian Loaña, Renz, and Ariane Grace Banais.

The initiative was organized by Key Result Area Champion 1, Dr. Victor G. Quiambao, Jr., as part of ongoing governance monitoring and guidance efforts. It was further supplemented by guidance and inputs from the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mark Gennesis B. Dela Cerna, to address academic-related needs of the said Centers.

Findings from the evaluation highlighted strong adherence to procedural standards, effective risk mitigation practices, and reliable service performance across operational functions.

A central outcome of the review was the validation of excellence in service delivery, reflecting the Centers’ ability to sustain secure, compliant, and well-managed operational environments.

The accreditation review advances SDG 9 by strengthening resilient operational systems, SDG 11 by supporting safe and well-managed facilities, and SDG 16 through enhanced governance, accountability, and effective risk oversight.

This accreditation review reinforces a culture of management discipline, compliance integrity, and service excellence, ensuring that facilities, safety, and risk oversight functions remain resilient, accountable, and future-ready.

The Center for Facilities and Safety Operations and the Center for Security and Risk Oversight are responsible for maintaining safe, compliant, and efficient operational environments through structured governance, proactive risk management, and disciplined service delivery.
