Project ARUGA Launches First Health Outreach for CMC Alumni

Care extends beyond graduation when institutions remain committed to the well-being of their community. In the spirit of this yuletide season, Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC), through the Center for Alumni Affairs (CAA), marked a meaningful milestone with the successful conduct of the first outreach activity of Project ARUGA on December 17, 2025, held at the CMC campus. The initiative provided essential health assistance and basic medical interventions to four (4) CMC alumni, reinforcing CMC’s culture of lifelong care and service.

Anchored on preventive healthcare and early detection, the outreach focused on blood sugar monitoring in partnership with the Center for Holistic Health. The health screening was administered by School Nurse Ms. Maria Carmela Baranda, who ensured accurate assessment, proper medical guidance, and health education for participating alumni. The activity highlighted the importance of regular health monitoring as a proactive approach to wellness and disease prevention.

Project ARUGA is spearheaded by the Center for Alumni Affairs Coordinator Mr. Jerson Villegas in collaboration with the Center for Holistic Health and the Progressive Organization for Professional Enhancement and Leadership (PROPEL).

Designed as a sustained, community-based initiative, the program aims to enhance the overall health, well-being, and resilience of CMC alumni through regular, accessible health services scheduled to continue twice a month. The outreach was coordinated under the leadership of the Alumni Coordinator, ensuring effective alumni engagement and smooth implementation.

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Project ARUGA supports SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by promoting preventive care, SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) through community-centered health initiatives, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening collaboration among institutional partners.

Through consistent health monitoring and shared responsibility, Project ARUGA continues to strengthen CMC’s commitment to alumni care, health literacy, and people-centered service.

Choose CMC, where care continues and community always comes first.
