E-Kumustahan CMCians virtual gathering held on December 6, 2025

Central Mindanao Colleges continues to strengthen meaningful connections as it expands alumni engagement through the 2025 E-Kumustahan CMCians virtual gathering held on December 6, 2025. The event brought together graduates from various batches and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to shared legacy, inclusivity, and lifelong learning. These commitments support global development priorities, particularly SDG 4 Quality Education, SDG 5 Gender Equality, SDG 10 Reduced Inequalities, and SDG 17 Partnerships for the Goals.

Shared messages of encouragement highlighted the collective pride and unity of CMC alumni across generations. During the Kumustahan segment, participants engaged in a meaningful Thoughts Sharing activity. Alumni reflected on the formative experiences that shaped their character and prepared them for life beyond college. These included internship, camaraderie, competitions, leadership, theater discipline, valuing friendship, perseverance, courage, and balancing academic and extracurricular activities. They also shared the inspiring journeys of alumni with PWDs, whose experiences demonstrated resilience and strengthened CMC’s commitment to an inclusive and equitable learning environment aligned with SDG 10 Reduced Inequalities.

To add energy and enjoyment to the online event, trivia games were incorporated, giving participants a lively and engaging way to reconnect and strengthen camaraderie across batches. These reflections and activities illustrated how CMC nurtures diverse learners, empowers all students to thrive, and builds a foundation of gratitude, applied learning, and meaningful community contribution. This environment provides countless opportunities, encourages every CMCian to reach their highest potential, and equips alumni to create lasting contributions in their communities, supporting SDG 4, SDG 5, and SDG 16 Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.

As part of the program, the CMC Center for Alumni Affairs, led by Coordinator Jerson John Villegas, presented a comprehensive overview of its ongoing and upcoming initiatives. The presentation covered the Alumni Tracer System that monitors employability and career progression, the Alumni Care Program that provides wellness outreach and mental health support, and the expanding network of Alumni Chapters that extend institutional presence locally and internationally. Mr. Villegas also highlighted the ASCEND Program for alumni professional development, career development initiatives such as job placement assistance and employer linkages, the official Alumni ID Card, and the recognition of 2025 alumni donors. The presentation concluded with the proposal for the Students Commons Lounge Area, a student-led and alumni-supported initiative grounded in shared ownership and the belief that the most meaningful campus spaces are those shaped by students themselves. This vision

supports SDG 4 Quality Education and SDG 17 Partnerships for the Goals by prioritizing collaboration and community-centered development.

The event closed with a message from Ms. Kayla T. Casulla, who shared that as reunited alumni, we listen to our stories, touch lives, and share experiences, and through these moments the CMC spirit lives on. She recognized those who embody CMC’s LIFE values, which stand for Love for God, Integrity, Family Orientation, and Excellence. She described the gathering as a moment that captures the beauty of going back home, reminding everyone that we will always have a home and a family at CMC, a place where we honor our roots.

Throughout the event, heartfelt support from alumnae, faculty, and administrators affirmed CMC’s enduring legacy as an institution that values connection, gratitude, and collective growth. The gathering celebrated not only memories, but also the ongoing contributions of CMCians who continue to create meaningful impact in their communities and professions.

CHOOSE CMC because here, connection strengthens community, stories inspire growth, and a shared legacy shapes every learner.
