August 4, 2025 – Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC), through its Center for International Affairs and Linkages, proudly sends off two of its promising student leaders—Mr. Cristoper D. Fernando and Ms. April Joy Arances—as official delegates to the Kusog Mindanao Conference 2025, scheduled on August 7–8, 2025 at Waterfront Insular Hotel, Lanang, Davao City. Anchored on the theme “Empowering the Successor Generation: A Conference for Multi-Sectoral Young Leaders and Advocates in Mindanao,” the Kusog Mindanao Conference serves as a vital platform for young leaders to engage in thoughtful dialogue, capacity-building workshops, and collaborative planning that promote peacebuilding, sustainability, and inclusive leadership in the region. Representing CMC with pride, Mr. Fernando currently serves as the President of the Passionate Individuals for Responsive and Strategic Internationalization towards Sustainable Development in Mindanao (PRISM)—the student organization under the Center for International Affairs and Linkages. Alongside him is Ms. Arances, the Editor-in-Chief of The Lions Quill, CMC’s official student publication, whose steadfast advocacy for responsible journalism and youth empowerment has made a meaningful impact both within and beyond the campus. Their participation is a reflection of their commitment to student leadership and social advocacy, and of the institution’s ongoing mission to develop changemakers who are ethical, visionary, and service-oriented. “This send-off symbolizes our full confidence in the next generation. Through the Kusog Mindanao platform, we encourage our students to lead with empathy, act with purpose, and become active voices for peace and progress in Mindanao,” shared the Coordinator of the Center for International Affairs and Linkages. Central Mindanao Colleges affirms the importance of involving its students in regional conversations that shape the future of Mindanao. Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals—particularly SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals—CMC continues to provide meaningful opportunities that empower learners as builders of peaceful, inclusive, and resilient communities. As Cristoper and April embark on this significant journey, the CMC community stands behind them with pride and hope. Their leadership, passion, and integrity reflect the values CMC upholds and the vision it continues to cultivate for future generations. With hearts full of hope, we send them forth—not only as delegates—but as changemakers, peacebuilders, and torchbearers of Mindanao’s future. #TatakCMC #CMCLeads #KusogMindanao2025 #PRISM #TheLionsQuill #YouthEmpowerment #MindanaoLeaders #SDG16 #SDG17 #CMCInternational #TorchbearersOfHope
