When culture takes spotlight, it becomes more than a performance, it becomes a purpose. It tells the stories of generations, carries the heartbeat of passion, and moves people back to the past. At Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC), a world climbing toward the future, a home that shows pride for their passion.
Last June 1โ7, Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC) proved this truth as it participated in the 43rd National Folkdance Workshop of the Philippine Folkdance Society and PANUHID: A National Dance Research Forum, held at the South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center in Koronadal City. Transparently showing their devotion and fire when it comes to culture and dance.
Representing CMC with the schoolโs pride and purpose, Madame Marivic Q. Pascual, Director of the Institute for Culture and the Arts (ICA); Ms. Ailyn Apolinares, Coordinator for the Center for Performing Arts; and Ms. Benjieline Daenielle Ambala, Coordinator for the Center for Culture and Heritage. Their participation wasnโt gone to waste. In every step learned, every insight shared, and every cultural influence made, they applied CMCโs enduring mission: to preserve tradition, to innovate with purpose, and to lead with excellence.
The event combined with joy and academic excellence, alongside performances and workshops, it featured the NCCA Research Forum, Workshop Showcase, Folk Dance Competition, Dancing Parade, and Regional Presentations with each highlighting culture and humanity.
CMCโs delegates appeared not just as dancers, but as a light of the schoolโs pride and a real example of love for culture. Their presence affirmed that culture isnโt just about looking back, but about moving forward with deep roots and bright visions.
At CMC, culture isnโt extra but itโs essential. Itโs not just static, yet itโs evolving. And itโs not just for show but for quality education, enhancement, and well-being. To see CMC in Koronadal was to see devotion and discipline, tradition and culture. As others seeks for the line between tradition and progress, CMC honors both, not just for the honor, but for the dedication.
Aligned with CMCโs commitment, this event highlights Sustainable Development Goal 17 โ Partnerships for the Goals, through strengthening cooperation between schools, cultural institutions, and communities to achieve shared visions for cultural preservation and educational advancement.
A world where students can learn, a learning that spreads around the world.
