Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC) continues to rise as a passionate institution as it proudly took part in the Davao Global Halal Academic Forum, held on June 18β19 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang, Davao City. This forum was part of the 10th Philippine Halal Trade and Tourism Expo, together with student leaders, educators, and researchers from across ASEAN and beyond.
Representing CMC, were student leaders from the Islamic Student Association (ISA) and the Malikhain Organization under the Institute for Culture and the Arts, guided by faculty adviser Mr. Mark Rey A. Ampuan. Their participation showed the schoolβs strong commitment to cultural involvement, ethical leadership, and innovation.
The event, co-hosted by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), the University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC), and the Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC), aimed to promote global academic collaboration in halal research, sustainable development, and growth. Special speakers included Mr. Harfiz Rasul bin Mohamad, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yazrina Yahya, Ms. Marilou W. Ampuan, Al Hajj Dato Chef Ismail Ahmad, and experts from DOST XI, discussing halal certification and the role of technology in sustainable halal industries.
CMCβs active role supports UN Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through aiming global collaboration for sustainable growth. This engagement also highlights CMCβs mission to form globally dedicated and ready leaders.
