CMC Strengthens Emergency Readiness Through “Commitment to Manage Crisis” Training

When crisis struck, preparation became the first line of defense.

Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC), through the CMC Lions Red Cross Youth Council, conducted “Commitment to Manage Crisis: Emergency Response Skills Enhancement Training” on September 5, 2026, at the Students’ Activity Center.

In partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), student volunteers received practical instruction in fire prevention and safety, basic firefighting, basic first aid, and immediate emergency response. BFP personnel facilitated discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on activities that strengthened the participants’ knowledge, confidence, teamwork, discipline, and leadership.

The training prepared students to remain composed, assess risks, make informed decisions, and respond responsibly during fires, injuries, and other emergencies. It also reflected CMC’s commitment to developing capable volunteers who were ready to serve and protect their communities.

The initiative advanced SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 5: Gender Equality, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through inclusive, skills-based learning and meaningful collaboration with the BFP.

Preparedness was confidence built before the emergency began.
