CMC Professional Education Students Complete Field Study 1 and 2 at Saguing National High School

Nine Professional Education students of the Central Mindanao Colleges College of Teacher Education completed their Field Study 1 and 2 at Saguing National High School, culminating in an Exit Program on September 2, 2026 and marking another important milestone in their preparation for the teaching profession.

The Field Study experience gave the students direct exposure to the realities of classroom life. Through observation, interaction, and guided participation, they gained a closer understanding of the patience, preparation, professional responsibility, and commitment required of teachers in creating meaningful learning experiences.

Completing the Field Study journey were Wendy V. Palero, Renz Allan V. Mangaron, Karen Jane A. Parba, Almayra B. Baroa, Quennie E. Salem, Cristine Mae C. Batomalaque, Catherine B. Frias, Florryjen L. Manampol, and Christine Loren P. Mequila.

Under the guidance of Dr. Mark Gennesis Dela Cerna, the students were given opportunities to connect concepts from their professional education courses with actual classroom situations. His mentorship, guidance, and encouragement supported the students as they developed a clearer understanding of the demands, responsibilities, and purpose of the teaching profession.

CMC extends its appreciation to Saguing National High School for welcoming the students and providing an environment where they could observe teaching practices, interact with learners, and learn from practicing educators.

The College likewise recognizes Mr. Earl Abad, School Principal, for opening the school to the Field Study students and supporting their learning experience. Appreciation is also extended to the Cooperating Teachers, whose classroom practices, professional insights, and guidance gave the students valuable lessons that could not be gained from textbooks alone.

The students also expressed their gratitude to the learners who welcomed them into their classrooms and to their fellow Field Study classmates who shared in the challenges, reflections, and memorable moments of the experience.

More than the completion of an academic requirement, Field Study 1 and 2 served as a vital bridge between theory and actual practice. It allowed the future educators to observe how teachers respond to learner needs, manage classrooms, prepare lessons, and carry the professional responsibilities expected in the school setting.

The experience advances SDG 4: Quality Education through practice-based teacher preparation, SDG 5: Gender Equality through the promotion of inclusive and equitable learning environments, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through the collaboration between Central Mindanao Colleges and Saguing National High School in preparing future educators.

With their Field Study journey completed, the nine CMC students leave Saguing National High School with more than observations and classroom experiences. They carry forward lessons, professional insights, and a deeper appreciation of the responsibility that comes with becoming a teacher.

Field Study 1 and 2 may be complete, but the journey of becoming an educator continues with greater purpose, preparation, and commitment to the learners they will one day serve.
