CMC NSTP Strengthens Resilience Through Second “Igniting Success” Session

Success is not built by avoiding challenges. It is built by facing them, learning from them, and choosing to grow through them.

Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC), through the National Service Training Program (NSTP), successfully conducted the second session of “Igniting Success” on September 5, 2026, at With Love Jan, Nuangan, Kidapawan City, bringing NSTP students together for a meaningful learning experience focused on personal development, resilience, and readiness to overcome challenges.

Centered on “Growth Mindset,” the session emphasized that abilities, skills, and intelligence can be strengthened through dedication, continuous learning, effective strategies, and perseverance. Students were encouraged to see challenges not as barriers, but as opportunities to learn, improve, and discover what they are capable of becoming.

The session was facilitated by Mr. Mark Rey A. Ampuan, NSTP Coordinator, who guided participants in understanding the difference between fixed and growth mindsets. He highlighted how personal beliefs can influence motivation, academic performance, decision-making, and the willingness to learn from mistakes.

Throughout the discussion, students were encouraged to embrace effort, respond positively to feedback, and remain persistent in difficult situations. The activity reinforced a powerful lesson: setbacks do not define potential. They can become stepping stones toward greater confidence, competence, and achievement.

As the second session of Igniting Success, the activity reflected NSTP’s continuing commitment to providing transformative learning experiences beyond the classroom. It supported the development of students who are resilient, reflective, disciplined, service-oriented, and prepared to contribute meaningfully to their communities.

The session also connected growth mindset with leadership and community service. Through continuous learning and self-improvement, NSTP students strengthen their ability to address community needs, work effectively with others, and serve with confidence, compassion, and determination.

The activity advanced SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being through emotional resilience and positive self-belief, SDG 4: Quality Education through lifelong and meaningful learning, SDG 5: Gender Equality through inclusive opportunities for personal growth and leadership, and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth through the development of adaptability, perseverance, and future-ready competencies.

With Igniting Success, CMC reaffirmed its commitment to developing learners who understand that success is shaped not only by what they already know, but by the courage to learn, the discipline to persevere, and the willingness to grow.

Every challenge carries a lesson. Every mistake creates an opportunity. Every effort moves a student forward.

𝗖hoose CMC, where students are empowered to rise beyond limitations, grow through experience, and become responsible citizens and compassionate leaders ready to serve.
