CMC GSE Advances Faculty Excellence Through the I SKILL Program

A stronger institution begins with educators who never stop learning. When faculty competence is continuously sharpened, classrooms become stronger, instruction becomes more responsive, and excellence becomes sustainable.

On August 31, 2026, Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC), through its Graduate School Education (GSE), marked another milestone in faculty development with the successful conduct of the 1st Batch of GSE Faculty Certification Examinations under the I SKILL Program.

The initiative provided faculty members with opportunities to validate and strengthen competencies in professional and digital skill areas aligned with contemporary academic and workplace demands.

The first batch featured certification examinations in Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Excel, IC3 Digital Literacy GS6 Level 3, Project Management, and Intuit Personal Finance.

More than earning credentials, the certification process strengthens the ability of educators to apply relevant skills in teaching, digital productivity, project implementation, financial literacy, and professional practice. It allows faculty members to demonstrate competencies that can be translated into stronger and more responsive learning experiences for students.

For CMC GSE, the I SKILL Program represents a purposeful investment in faculty capability. It recognizes that excellence in graduate education is sustained not only through academic qualifications, but also through continuous upskilling, industry-recognized certification, micro-credentialing, and lifelong professional learning.

In doing so, educators model the same growth mindset expected of their learners while remaining responsive to emerging technologies, evolving professional standards, and changing educational environments.

The milestone advances SDG 4: Quality Education through stronger faculty capacity and relevant professional learning, SDG 5: Gender Equality through inclusive access to professional advancement, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth through continuous workforce development, and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure through digital competency and innovation in education.

The successful first batch signals the beginning of a continuing initiative that opens more pathways for faculty members to pursue international certification and micro-credentials, strengthening both individual expertise and institutional capacity.
