CMC VPAA Serves as CHEDRO XII RQAT Assessor for Graduate Teacher Education
Excellence carries greater weight when it is shared. The
strongest academic leaders do not keep expertise within institutional walls;
they bring it where quality, standards, and the future of education are being
shaped.
GENERAL SANTOS CITY, August 12–15, 2026. Central Mindanao
Colleges Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Mark Gennesis B. Dela Cerna
served as an assessor for the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office
XII (CHEDRO XII) Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) during the joint
monitoring of existing Graduate Teacher Education programs in General Santos
City.
Recognized for his expertise in Teacher Education, Dr. Dela
Cerna was invited by CHEDRO XII to participate in the monitoring of the Master
of Arts in Education (MAEd), major in Educational Management, offered by Holy
Trinity College of General Santos City and Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges,
Inc. The engagement formed part of CHEDRO XII’s regional quality assurance
efforts for graduate teacher education.
The monitoring provided a platform for academic assessment,
professional dialogue, and collaborative review focused on quality assurance,
academic standards, program implementation, and continuous improvement.
At Holy Trinity College of General Santos City, the engagement
highlighted the value of constructive assessment and institutional
collaboration in sustaining quality graduate education. The succeeding
monitoring at Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges, Inc. further provided
opportunities for dialogue among RQAT members, CHEDRO XII officials, and
institutional representatives on program quality and continuing enhancement.
Dr. Dela Cerna’s participation reflects how CMC academic
leadership contributes beyond the boundaries of the institution, sharing
professional expertise in support of broader quality assurance initiatives in
Philippine higher education. It also connects CMC to regional conversations on
academic standards, teacher education, institutional accountability, and
continuous improvement.
The undertaking advances SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17:
Partnerships for the Goals through academic collaboration, knowledge exchange,
and shared responsibility for educational quality.
The true reach of academic leadership is measured not only by
