CMC Student Leaders Advance Success Through Transformative Leadership
Student success is strengthened when young people are not only
prepared to achieve, but empowered to lead, influence others, and create
positive change beyond themselves.
KIDAPAWAN CITY, COTABATO, August 15, 2026. The Central Mindanao
Colleges Collegiate Students Supreme Council (CMC CSSC), together with student
leaders from different colleges and departments, represented Central Mindanao
Colleges during the Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 Local Youth Forum at the Kidapawan
City Gymnasium, reflecting CMC’s continuing commitment to student success,
transformational leadership, civic engagement, and youth empowerment.
Headed by CMC CSSC President Cristoper D. Fernando, the
delegation included Matt Tobias, Arnel Benito, Nasrudin Camsagay, Sophia
Alamis, Christian Kyle Ladra, Edgardo Tabigue, Nico Jhan Espejo, Chariza
Medina, Jonied Puntuan, and Jade Wayne Chang.
Their participation provided a meaningful leadership space
where students could engage with issues that directly affect young people and
communities. Discussions on Mental Health Awareness, HIV Awareness, and Drug
Prevention strengthened their capacity to become informed advocates,
responsible decision-makers, and socially responsive leaders.
From a student success perspective, the forum extended learning
beyond academic performance. It strengthened communication, critical awareness,
confidence, empathy, collaboration, advocacy, and civic responsibility,
qualities essential to personal growth and future professional leadership.
More importantly, the experience reflected transformational
student leadership, where leadership is measured not simply by position or
visibility, but by the ability to inspire others, elevate shared concerns,
model responsible action, and contribute to meaningful community change.
The observance of ASEAN Month further reinforced intercultural
understanding, regional cooperation, and the importance of developing young
leaders who can respond to both local realities and wider social challenges.
The activity advances SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4:
Quality Education, SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and SDG 17:
Partnerships for the Goals.
At CMC, student success is not defined only by what students
accomplish for themselves. It is also seen in how they use their voice,
influence, and leadership to help others grow. When student leaders become
catalysts for awareness, responsibility, and collective action, leadership
becomes transformational and success becomes shared.
