PRISM and CIAL Join Dagan para sa Kinaiyahan: Run for Greener Kidapawan

Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC), through the Passionate and Responsive Individuals for Strategic Internationalization and Sustainable Development in Mindanao (PRISM) and the Center for International Affairs and Linkages (CIAL), actively participated in the Dagan para sa Kinaiyahan: Run for Greener Kidapawan held on July 19, 2026, at Barangay Kalaisan, Kidapawan City. The initiative reflects the institution's continuing commitment to environmental stewardship, youth engagement, and community participation in advancing sustainable development.

The activity brought together individuals and organizations in a shared advocacy for environmental conservation through a 2.5-kilometer fun run followed by the planting of 350 trees in support of the Canopy '25 Movement. By combining health promotion, environmental action, and volunteerism, the initiative encouraged participants to become active contributors to building greener, healthier, and more resilient communities.

Representing Central Mindanao Colleges were the dedicated members of PRISM, together with Ms. Desiree D. Gayramara, PRISM Adviser and Coordinator of the Center for International Affairs and Linkages (CIAL). Their participation exemplifies the College's commitment to cultivating socially responsible, environmentally conscious, and globally engaged student leaders who actively contribute to community development and sustainability initiatives.

Beyond promoting physical wellness and environmental awareness, the activity served as a meaningful platform for fostering volunteerism, civic responsibility, and collective action. Every stride taken during the fun run and every tree planted symbolized a shared commitment to protecting natural resources, addressing environmental challenges, and creating a more sustainable future for present and future generations.

Aligned with Central Mindanao Colleges' commitment to sustainable development, the initiative advances the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being by promoting active and healthy lifestyles through community participation; SDG 13: Climate Action by encouraging environmental awareness and climate resilience initiatives; SDG 15: Life on Land through reforestation and ecosystem restoration efforts; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by strengthening collaboration among youth organizations, educational institutions, local government units, and community stakeholders in advancing sustainability initiatives.

As Central Mindanao Colleges continues to champion programs that promote environmental responsibility and active citizenship, PRISM remains steadfast in empowering students to become catalysts of positive change through meaningful community engagement, sustainability initiatives, and responsible leadership.

Through initiatives such as Dagan para sa Kinaiyahan, CMC reaffirms its mission of nurturing future-ready leaders who embrace environmental stewardship, inspire collective action, and contribute meaningfully to building a greener, healthier, and more sustainable world.
