June 10, 2026 — The
first day of STEP UP: Bridging Education and Employment successfully provided
graduating students with essential knowledge and practical skills to help them
prepare for their future careers.
Ms. Donna Mae O.
Baron led insightful sessions on the Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar (PEOS),
Pre-Employment Seminar for Local Applicants (PESLA), and Employment Coaching.
The discussions focused on understanding labor market trends, preparing effective
résumés and application documents, developing interview skills, workplace
professionalism, and strategies for securing employment opportunities. Through
Employment Coaching, students were guided on building confidence, identifying
career goals, and enhancing competencies that employers seek in prospective
employees.
Meanwhile, Ms. Paula
Victoria L. Ben facilitated discussions on Labor Education for Graduating
Students and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH). Participants gained valuable
insights into labor laws, workers' rights and responsibilities, workplace ethics,
labor standards, and the importance of maintaining a safe and healthy work
environment.
The sessions
empowered graduating students with practical knowledge and career readiness
skills necessary for a successful transition from education to employment. By
strengthening their awareness of workplace expectations and employment
opportunities, participants are now better equipped to pursue their
professional aspirations.
The successful
conduct of Day 1 reflects the commitment of the Center for Job Placement (CJP)
and Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC) to producing competent, informed, and
work-ready graduates prepared to meet the demands of the evolving workforce.
