LIYAG Beyond Borders: Connecting Minds, Creating Opportunities

The Center for International Affairs and Linkages (CIAL) successfully conducted “LIYAG Beyond Borders: Connecting Minds, Creating Opportunities” on June 5, 2026, bringing together students, academic leaders, faculty members, and stakeholders for a meaningful discussion on internationalization and global engagement.

The activity served as a platform to introduce the CMC community to the institution’s internationalization efforts, highlighting the vital role of CIAL in fostering global partnerships, academic collaboration, cultural exchange, and international learning opportunities. Participants were also introduced to the LIYAG Institutional Banner Program, CMC’s framework for internationalization, through its key components: I-ACE, COIL, and LINK+.

The event showcased the remarkable accomplishments of CIAL, including local and international mobility engagements, international partnerships, benchmarking initiatives, academic collaborations, and Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) programs. Participants were further inspired by presentations on upcoming international mobility programs and online exchange opportunities that continue to open doors for students and faculty members to engage with the global academic community.

Adding depth and relevance to the discussion was Mr. Janreve M. Odango from the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XII, who shared valuable insights on international mobility and the growing importance of internationalization in higher education. His presentation underscored the transformative impact of global engagement in shaping graduates who are not only academically competent but also culturally aware, adaptable, and globally competitive.

More than an orientation session, the activity reaffirmed Central Mindanao Colleges’ commitment to creating meaningful opportunities that connect learners with the global community.
