When institutions
come together with a shared purpose, higher education becomes a force that
transforms lives, expands opportunities, and shapes the future of generations.
Central Mindanao
Colleges (CMC) reaffirmed its commitment to educational excellence and
collaborative governance through its participation in the Consultative Meeting
with Higher Education Institutions in Region XII, led by Dr. Shirley C.
Agrupis, Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), held on June
13, 2026, at The Farm @ Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City.
The engagement formed
part of the Ocular Visit of the CHED Chairperson and Tertiary Education Subsidy
(TES) Grant Distribution in Region XII, which brought together higher education
leaders, institutional representatives, and education stakeholders to discuss
pressing concerns, emerging priorities, and strategic directions in Philippine
higher education.
The consultative
meeting provided an avenue for meaningful dialogue on strengthening
institutional responsiveness, expanding access to quality tertiary education,
and fostering partnerships that contribute to student development and academic
success. It underscored the importance of shared leadership and collective
action in addressing the evolving needs of learners and educational
institutions across the region.
Representing Central
Mindanao Colleges, Ms. Daniella Vielle Campo, Human Resource Management and
Development Officer, actively participated in the consultative meeting,
engaging in discussions on key developments, priorities, and collaborative
initiatives aimed at strengthening the quality and accessibility of higher
education in Region XII. Her participation reflected CMC’s commitment to
institutional excellence, continuous professional development, and active
engagement in shaping the future of higher education.
The event also
featured the distribution of Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) Grants,
highlighting the government’s continuing efforts to expand educational
opportunities and provide meaningful support to students in pursuing and
completing their tertiary education.
Ocular Visit
to the Affected HEIs in General Santos City
As part of the day’s
engagements, CHED officials conducted an Ocular Visit to the Higher Education
Institutions (HEIs) affected by the recent earthquake in Region XII. The visit
aimed to assess the condition of the institutions, gather firsthand information
on the impact of the seismic event, and determine appropriate interventions and
support mechanisms to ensure the continuity of quality higher education
services.
The activity
underscored CHED’s commitment to responsive leadership and its proactive role
in assisting institutions during times of crisis. Through direct engagement
with institutional representatives, the Commission sought to better understand
the challenges faced by the affected HEIs while identifying strategies to
strengthen preparedness, resilience, and recovery efforts within the higher
education sector.
This initiative
highlights the importance of solidarity and collaboration in safeguarding
educational continuity and institutional well-being, particularly in the face
of unforeseen challenges affecting learning communities across the region.
Through its active
participation in regional educational engagements, Central Mindanao Colleges
continues to strengthen strategic partnerships, embrace transformative
leadership, and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of higher education
in Region XII.
At CMC, excellence is
cultivated through collaboration, guided by service, and sustained by a shared
vision of empowering future generations.
