As higher education institutions continue
to expand their role in the global academic community, Central Mindanao
Colleges (CMC), through its Center for International Affairs and Linkages
(CIAL), actively participated in Session 3 of Project PIVOT (Partnerships for
International Visibility and Organizational Transformation) entitled “From
Connection to Collaboration: PHEIs Achieving Expanded Internationalization” on
May 21, 2026.
The online session served as a platform
for Philippine Higher Education Institutions (PHEIs) to gain deeper insights
into strengthening internationalization efforts through strategic partnerships,
diaspora engagement, and volunteerism-driven initiatives. It highlighted how
meaningful collaborations can contribute to institutional growth, global
visibility, and community impact.
During the session, representatives from
the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) and the
Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) shared valuable discussions on the
importance of connecting institutions with cross-border volunteer networks and
the global Filipino community. The speakers emphasized that
internationalization goes beyond mobility programs, encouraging institutions to
establish sustainable partnerships that create long-term educational and social
impact.
The discussions also explored innovative
approaches to promoting international cooperation, intercultural engagement,
and collaborative opportunities that can help institutions become more globally
connected and future-ready. Participants were encouraged to maximize
partnerships and community engagement as instruments for organizational
transformation and enhanced international visibility.
CMC’s participation in Session 3 of
Project PIVOT reflects the institution’s continuing commitment to strengthening
global linkages and fostering a culture of internationalization within the
academic community. Through the initiatives of the Center for International
Affairs and Linkages, the institution continuously seeks opportunities that
broaden perspectives, promote collaboration, and support the development of
globally competitive learners and professionals.
As CMC continues to pursue excellence
beyond borders, the institution remains dedicated to building meaningful
international partnerships that contribute to innovation, collaboration, and
transformative education.
