Central
Mindanao Colleges (CMC), through its Center for Job Placement (CJP), in
partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and in
collaboration with PROPEL (Progressive Organization for Professional
Enhancement and Leadership), successfully conducted its STEP UP Program
(Student Transition and Employment Preparation Program) on March 27, 2026.
The
activity was held virtually via Zoom, engaging graduating students from various
academic programs. It aimed to equip participants with essential knowledge and
practical insights as they transitioned from academic life to professional
employment.
The
STEP UP Program serves as a flagship initiative of the Center for Job
Placement, designed to prepare students for life beyond graduation by
strengthening their employability skills, professional values, and industry
readiness. Through this initiative, students were empowered to become
workforce-ready, informed, and competitive in today’s dynamic labor market.
A
key partner in the success of the activity, PROPEL, played a vital role in
mobilizing students and promoting leadership and professional development. As a
student-led organization committed to excellence and growth, PROPEL contributed
significantly to the program’s implementation by fostering engagement,
participation, and a culture of preparedness among graduating students.
In
collaboration with DOLE, the program also provided expert discussions on labor
rights, responsibilities, occupational safety and health, and workplace
expectations, equipping participants with practical knowledge essential for
their future careers.
Through
the successful implementation of the STEP UP Program, Central Mindanao Colleges
reaffirmed its commitment to producing globally competitive, responsible, and
future-ready graduates, while strengthening partnerships that promote labor
education, decent work, and sustainable employment among Filipino youth.
