When
communities rise from ashes, compassion becomes action, and hope finds its way
back home.
The
collected donations under the Pag-Amummah Initiative: Pagali Ko, Tabangan Ko
were formally turned over to identified fire-affected families and communities,
ensuring that assistance reached those most in need with dignity and care.
The
turnover was facilitated by the Center for Social Action in coordination with
local partners, emphasizing transparency, accountability, and compassionate
service.
Present
during the turnover were Dr. Cynthia S. Asuncion, School President of Central
Mindanao Colleges, and Mark Rey A. Ampuan, Coordinator of the Center for Social
Action, whose presence underscored the institution’s commitment to responsive
leadership and community-centered engagement.
Each
item distributed, including food packs, hygiene kits, clothing, and essential
supplies, symbolized the collective generosity of the CMC community. More than
relief, the initiative restored hope, strengthened solidarity, and affirmed
that service is most powerful when it is shared.
For
the recipients, the assistance meant more than material support. It was a
reminder that they were not alone in their struggle.
“Dako
kaayo among pasalamat. Sa kalayo nga nahitabo, murag nawad-an gyud mi ug tanan,
pero tungod ninyo, nakabati mi nga naa gihapon nagpakabana,” shared one
beneficiary.
Another
recipient expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying: “Dili lang ni tabang, kundi
paglaum nga makabangon mi pag-usab. Salamat kaayo sa CMC ug sa tanang
nagtabang.”
These
voices reflect the true impact of the initiative, where compassion was felt,
hope was restored, and lives began to rebuild.
CHOOSE
CMC, where compassion leads, communities rise, and humanity responds.
