CMC Launches Purple Wednesday for National Women’s Month

When a community chooses purple, it chooses a cause.

At Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC), the observance of Purple Wednesday transforms a simple color into a powerful symbol of solidarity for women’s empowerment and gender equality.

On March 4, 2026, the CMC community officially launched its Purple Wednesday campaign as part of the institution’s celebration of National Women’s Month. Student leaders, center heads, administrators, personnel, and students actively participated in the first observance by wearing purple, turning the campus into a visible expression of advocacy, unity, and shared responsibility.

Purple, globally recognized as the color representing justice, dignity, and equality for women, served as a meaningful reminder that advancing gender equality requires awareness, participation, and collective commitment.

Through this initiative, members of the CMC community demonstrated that advocacy extends beyond symbolic gestures. It becomes visible through action, dialogue, and reflection that strengthen the institution’s culture of equality and empowerment.

The launch of Purple Wednesday sets the tone for the remaining observances scheduled on March 11, 18, and 25, 2026, inviting the entire academic community to take part in promoting gender awareness and inclusive participation throughout the month.

Guided by its commitment to provide holistic and socially responsive education, Central Mindanao Colleges continues to champion initiatives that empower individuals and cultivate a campus culture grounded in dignity, respect, and equal opportunity.

Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality) and Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education), the initiative promotes gender awareness, inclusive participation, and shared responsibility in fostering equitable and empowering educational communities.

At Central Mindanao Colleges, advocacy is not only celebrated. It is lived through collective action, meaningful reflection, and a shared commitment to building a more inclusive future.

Choose Purple. Choose Reflection. Choose Equality. Choose CMC.
