Kidapawan
City, Philippines — The College of Teacher Education through the Center for
International Affairs and Linkages successfully conducted its International
Education Trip from February 12 to 16, 2026 across Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and
Macau. The activity was implemented under the LIYAG Banner Program through the
I-ACE International Academic and Cultural Exchange Program, the institutional
platform for structured cross border academic mobility aligned with CMC and
Beyond.
The
Fourth Year education students participated in a carefully designed academic
immersion intended to broaden their understanding of diverse educational
systems, cultural contexts, and innovative learning environments. As part of
the I-ACE Program’s mobility and professional exposure component, the trip
provided experiential learning opportunities consistent with CMC’s
internationalization framework and national guidelines on international
educational trips. The initiative also reflects CMC’s strategic positioning
toward impact driven global engagement aligned with the World’s Universities
with Real Impact framework, particularly in the areas of student mobility,
innovative education, and social responsibility.
In
Hong Kong, students observed how creativity, culture, and learning intersect in
dynamic environments. A notable experience was the visit to Hong Kong
Disneyland, where storytelling, innovation, and experiential design illustrated
how engagement and imagination can enhance instructional strategies. The
exposure offered meaningful insights into learner centered approaches and
immersive educational practices that future educators can integrate into their
own classrooms.
The
delegation’s visit to Shenzhen introduced students to an innovation driven and
sustainability oriented setting that emphasized environmental responsibility,
discipline, and modern development. The experience reinforced the importance of
integrating sustainability, global awareness, and civic responsibility into
teaching practice.
The
academic highlight of the trip was the university visit to the University of
Macau, where students explored world class facilities and were introduced to
international standards of teaching and research. The engagement allowed them
to benchmark institutional excellence and envision higher levels of
professionalism, competence, and lifelong learning.
The
students were accompanied by Dean Dr. Beatriz D. Gosadan and BPEd Program Head
Ranel C. Mamon, ensuring that the activity remained academically anchored and
reflective in nature. The trip functioned as a structured academic mobility
initiative under the I-ACE Program, contributing directly to the objectives of
CIAL in mobility facilitation, global exposure, and partnership development.
This
international learning experience contributes to the advancement of the United
Nations Sustainable Development Goals including SDG 4 Quality Education, SDG 10
Reduced Inequalities, SDG 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 12
Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 17 Partnerships for the Goals.
Through structured intercultural engagement and impact driven mobility, CMC
strengthens its commitment to globally relevant and socially responsive
education.
The International Education Trip 2026 stands as a testament to the College of Teacher Education’s dedication to producing globally competent and culturally responsive educators. More than a journey across borders, it reflects the institutional direction of CMC and Beyond and the continued pursuit of Excellence Without Boarders.
