CMC DECLARES NO TO HAZING Choose Mindful Choices. Protect Life. Protect Dignity.

No tradition is worth a life. No organization is worth a student’s safety.

With this message, Central Mindanao Colleges, Inc. strengthens its firm stand against hazing, reinforcing a campus culture where respect, dignity, and responsible leadership define student life.

In support of the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XII Memorandum No. 12, Series of 2026, which enjoins Higher Education Institutions to conduct activities for the National Hazing Prevention Week, CMC implemented a campus-wide awareness and prevention campaign focused on student protection, education, and accountability.

The initiative is led by the Center for Student Success, in collaboration with faculty advisers, student organizations, and campus leaders. Activities include orientations on anti-hazing laws and institutional policies, leadership forums on responsible membership, pledge-signing ceremonies, and information drives highlighting reporting mechanisms and confidential support channels.

Student leaders formally affirmed their commitment to safe organizational practices, while faculty advisers strengthened monitoring and compliance systems. Guidance services and peer-support initiatives were also reinforced to ensure prevention, early intervention, and student well-being.

Director Erolle Linus T. Miranda, Institute for Support Services, emphasized the importance of collective responsibility, stating,

“Leadership is measured not by power or tradition, but by the courage to protect people, uphold dignity, and choose what is right.”

Central Mindanao Colleges continues to promote a campus environment where leadership begins with personal responsibility and where every learner thrives in safety and respect.

This initiative advances the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), reinforcing CMC’s commitment to building peaceful, inclusive, and violence-free learning communities.

Choose mindful choices. Protect your future. Choose CMC.
