The
spirit of global collaboration and innovation was vividly demonstrated through
the Global Entrepreneurship Challenge that brought together students from the
Philippines and Japan. Conducted over a one-month virtual program in January
2026 under CMC’s Center for International Affairs and Linkages (CIAL)
Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) initiative, the activity
embodied the principle of Excellence Without Borders.
The
virtual exchange was facilitated by the Center for International Affairs and
Linkages of Central Mindanao Colleges in collaboration with partner
institutions in Japan, with active participation from the College of
Accountancy, Business, and Management Education (CABME). The challenge provided
a dynamic platform for students to present business ideas, exchange insights,
and collaboratively respond to real-world challenges from both local and global
perspectives.
Throughout
the program, students from Central Mindanao Colleges, including those from
CABME, showcased community-driven entrepreneurial concepts grounded in local
needs, sustainability, and social impact. Their Japanese counterparts presented
innovation-focused proposals highlighting efficiency, technology, and strategic
planning. These diverse approaches reflected how culture and educational
context shape entrepreneurial thinking while enriching the learning experience
for all participants.
The
extended duration of the program allowed deeper engagement through sustained
discussions, mentoring, and feedback sessions. This collaborative environment
strengthened critical thinking, teamwork, and cross-cultural communication
skills essential for aspiring entrepreneurs and future global leaders.
Beyond
business innovation, the Global Entrepreneurship Challenge also fostered
cultural appreciation and international friendship. Participants gained deeper
understanding of each other’s entrepreneurial ecosystems and cultural values,
reinforcing mutual respect and global awareness.
The
successful one-month exchange strengthened institutional partnerships and
reaffirmed the commitment of Central Mindanao Colleges, through its Center for
International Affairs and Linkages, to internationalization and transformative
education. By nurturing innovation, leadership, and global citizenship, the
initiative continues to prepare learners for a connected and competitive world.
Congratulations
to all student participants from the Philippines and Japan for their
creativity, dedication, and collaborative spirit. This Global Entrepreneurship
Challenge stands as a testament to what can be achieved when cultures connect
and ideas are shared.
