Leadership
begins not with position, but with purpose, and purpose is sustained by
discipline.
The
8th Session of the PULSE Leadership Series, held on January 21, 2026, at the
CMC Accreditation Room, forms part of the Center for Student Success’
continuous Leadership Development Program, serving as a sustained platform for
reflective dialogue and leadership formation among members of the College of
Computing Education Student Council.
Designed
as an interactive leadership session, the program moves beyond a traditional
resource-speaker format, actively engaging participants through guided
discussions, reflective exchanges, and collaborative sharing of experiences.
The
session examines contemporary perspectives on student leadership, with emphasis
on purpose-driven service, collaborative governance, personal accountability,
and effective time management as a core leadership competency. Participant
engagement highlights strategic prioritization, disciplined decision-making,
and balance in managing academic responsibilities alongside organizational
leadership roles. The discourse is further enriched by insights from the
invited Leadership Session Speaker, Institute for Support Services Director
Erolle Linus T. Miranda, who emphasizes values-centered leadership grounded in
authenticity and service. In a message to student leaders, Miranda shares,
“Your leadership should be felt before it is seen; remember PULSE in action,
HEART in purpose. As CMCian leaders, be the light for others, because people
follow what they see, not just what they hear.”
As
an outcome of the session, participants demonstrate heightened leadership
awareness, strengthened peer learning, and acquire practical strategies for
effective time management, reinforcing the CMC commitment to developing student
leaders who lead with clarity, discipline, and purpose.
CMC
leads by purpose, moves with discipline, and stands on character.
