At Central Mindanao Colleges, excellence
is not defined by medals alone but by the discipline, resilience, and values
demonstrated in every competition
True
to this spirit, the CMC Lawn Tennis Team delivered a strong and commendable
showing at the Shariff Kabunsuan Open Tennis Tournament, held on December 20 to
22, 2025, in Cotabato City, earning the 1st Runner-Up title against elite competition.
The
three-day tournament gathered top collegiate and club tennis players from
various institutions, showcasing high-level play and sportsmanship.
Representing
CMC, Jose Vincent Comendador and Basser M. Ali advanced to the finals through
disciplined preparation, teamwork, and consistent performance, ultimately
facing the formidable team from the University of Santo Tomas (UST). Their
journey to the championship match affirmed CMC’s sustained presence in
competitive collegiate sports.
Throughout
the tournament, the CMC duo demonstrated composure under pressure, strategic
execution, and unwavering determination. Their performance reflects CMC’s
commitment to developing well-rounded student-athletes grounded in excellence,
discipline, and integrity, both on and off the court.
Their
participation and success were fully supported by Central Mindanao Colleges
through the Center for Athletic Development, highlighting the institution’s
dedication to holistic athletic development.
This
achievement reinforces Central Mindanao Colleges as a home of champions, where
athletic excellence is built through continuous training, institutional
support, and strong values formation.
This
achievement aligns with SDG 3 Good Health and Well-Being, SDG 4 Quality
Education, and SDG 17 Partnerships through holistic athletic development.
The
CMC community proudly congratulates Comendador and Ali for their outstanding
performance and extends appreciation to the tournament organizers for a
successful event.
