CABME Educational Tour Brings FIN 102 Students to BSP Davao for Real-World Learning

Student success is strengthened when classroom concepts are connected with the institutions, systems, and professionals that shape the country’s financial landscape.

On August 19, 2026, Central Mindanao Colleges formally sent off FIN 102 – Monetary Policy and Central Banking students for Behind the Peso: A CABME Educational Tour, on August 20, 2026, at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas in Davao City.

The educational visit was designed to complement classroom instruction by giving students firsthand exposure to the operations, functions, and policy responsibilities of the country’s central bank. Through engagement with BSP professionals and learning sessions, students were expected to deepen their understanding of monetary policy, financial stability, banking regulation, financial inclusion, digital innovation, and the BSP’s role in supporting sustainable economic growth.

The send-off was joined by Dir. Erolle Linus T. Miranda, Director of the Institute for Support Services, and Ms. Trisha Karl J. Rellon, Center for Student Success Officer, with the support of Dr. John Rowuel Palabrica, Dean of the College of Accountancy and Business Management Education, reflecting CMC’s shared commitment to preparing students for learning experiences beyond the classroom.

More than an educational tour, it provides students with opportunities to strengthen critical thinking, communication, leadership, and professional readiness while gaining a clearer understanding of how monetary policy and central banking influence businesses, communities, and the wider economy.

The activity also supports the preparation of future financial management professionals by connecting academic knowledge with actual institutional practice, helping students become more competent, ethical, and socially responsible in their future careers.

The initiative advances SDG 4: Quality Education through experiential learning, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, through finance-related professional preparation, SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions through greater awareness of financial governance and stability, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through engagement with a national government institution.

At CMC, student success means helping learners move beyond textbooks and experience how knowledge works in the real world. Through the CABME Educational Tour, FIN 102 students are given the opportunity to see monetary policy not simply as a classroom concept, but as a force that shapes the economy and everyday life.

One Family.
One Pride. One ROAR.
Greatness doesn’t start with a step. It starts with a ROAR.
