CMC MBA Students Advance Servant Leadership Through the Serbisyong Totoo Medical Mission

Leadership becomes more meaningful when knowledge is transformed into service and compassion is translated into action.

Central Mindanao Colleges, through its Master in Business Administration Program, joined the Serbisyong Totoo Medical Mission of the Provincial Government of Cotabato in Barangay Dalingaoen, Pikit, Cotabato.

Held under the leadership of Governor Emmylou “Lala” Taliño-Mendoza, the community outreach was conducted in partnership with Barangay Chairman Satar Abdulrahman and the officials of Barangay Dalingaoen.

The medical mission provided free healthcare services while bringing together medical professionals, public servants, volunteers, community leaders, and institutional partners united by a shared commitment to public welfare.

For the participating CMC MBA students, the engagement became a meaningful learning experience beyond the classroom. It strengthened their understanding of servant leadership, teamwork, social responsibility, community engagement, and responsive decision-making.

The CMC MBA student volunteers were led by Mr. Perfecto III Flores Raagas, who served as Team Leader. Through his coordination and guidance, the group actively contributed to the organized and successful implementation of the outreach initiative.

More than an act of volunteerism, the medical mission demonstrated how management education can respond to actual community needs. It allowed future business leaders to apply leadership principles through service, collaboration, and direct engagement with people.

The initiative advanced SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being by supporting accessible community healthcare, SDG 4: Quality Education through experiential and service-based learning, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through collaboration among education, government, and local communities.

At CMC, leadership is not measured only by professional competence. It is revealed through the willingness to serve, respond with compassion, and create meaningful impact where it is needed most.
