On August 12, 2025, Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC) celebrated International Youth Day under the theme “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond: Strengthening Philippine–Japan Friendship for Sustainable Futures.” The event highlighted how CMC students are turning global goals into local action. Organized by the Center for International Affairs and Linkages (CIAL) and the student group PRISM, in partnership with the Mindanao Children’s Library Foundation, the celebration featured Japanese student volunteers for a learning exchange. Guests toured CMC’s campus and participated in discussions with school leaders, faculty, and students, strengthening cultural and academic partnerships. The event supported key UN Sustainable Development Goals including health, education, peace, and partnerships. CMC President Dr. Cynthia S. Asuncion noted the importance of internationalization as a way to open minds and build shared futures. CMC continues to value and support events like this that empower students to lead meaningful local and global change.
