As
we celebrate National Women’s Month and International Women’s Day, we honor the
enduring spirit, creativity, and leadership of women who shape our culture,
arts, and communities.
Like
the Babaylans of our heritage, women continue to guide society with wisdom,
courage, and compassion. Through culture and the arts, we tell powerful
stories, preserve identity, and ignite transformation.
Let
this celebration remind us that every woman’s voice, vision, and artistry
matter. When women create, communities flourish; when women lead, cultures
thrive; and when women rise, nations remember their soul.
Today,
we also pay tribute to our culture and arts patron and icon, the great “Lola
Panching”, Esperanza Abellera Sabulao, whose life and legacy continue to
illuminate our path with grace, generosity, and unwavering love for culture and
community.
May every woman who creates, preserves, and uplifts culture remind us that the true strength of a nation lives in the hands, hearts, and stories of its women, guiding us to honor our heritage, empower our communities, and inspire generations yet to come.
