Central
Mindanao Colleges successfully conducted the LINK+ Global Career Pathways
Forum: Career Seminar on In-Demand Jobs in New Zealand – Programs,
Qualifications, and Migration Preparation on February 27, 2026, at the Central
Mindanao Colleges main campus. The activity was organized through the Center
for International Affairs and Linkages (CIAL), together with its official
student arm, Passionate and Responsive Individuals for Strategic
Internationalization and Sustainable Development in Mindanao (PRISM), in
collaboration with the Center for Job Placement (CJP), the Center for Alumni
Affairs, and the Progressive Organization for Professional Enhancement and
Leadership (PROPEL). The initiative was implemented under the LIYAG Banner
Program through the LINK+ Global Engagement, Research, Innovation, and
Sustainability Platform, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to
responsible internationalization and global workforce readiness.
The
forum provided graduating students and alumni with structured, accurate, and
ethically grounded guidance on employment opportunities in New Zealand.
Addressing the growing interest in overseas career pathways, the seminar
presented updated labor market trends, clarified qualification equivalencies
and professional requirements, discussed documentation and migration
procedures, and emphasized lawful and transparent advisory practices. By
situating international mobility within a compliance-driven framework, Central
Mindanao Colleges ensured that participants received reliable information
aligned with current labor and immigration policies.
The
seminar featured Dev Bhageerutty, a Licensed Immigration Adviser in New
Zealand, who delivered comprehensive insights on skilled migration pathways and
regulatory requirements. He was joined by Dinah Suarin, Founder of ePathways,
who provided guidance on aligning academic credentials and professional
qualifications with viable study and employment opportunities. Their
participation reinforced the importance of informed decision-making and ethical
migration planning.
The
initiative demonstrated alignment with the United Nations Sustainable
Development Goals, particularly Sustainable Development Goal 4 on Quality
Education, Sustainable Development Goal 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth,
and Sustainable Development Goal 17 on Partnerships for the Goals. It also
reflected alignment with the World’s Universities with Real Impact framework,
particularly in the categories of Industry Application, Entrepreneurial Spirit,
and Global Collaboration, by connecting academic preparation with real-world
workforce demands and structured international engagement.
Through the LINK+ Global Career Pathways Forum, Central Mindanao Colleges advanced its strategic direction of “Central Mindanao Colleges and Beyond,” strengthening global employability, responsible mobility awareness, and sustainable international engagement. The activity stands as a concrete expression of the institution’s commitment to developing globally competent, professionally prepared, and socially responsible graduates equipped to thrive in an interconnected world.
