Central
Mindanao Colleges, represented by its Junior Financial Management Executives,
actively participated in the Regional Financial Literacy Caravan held on
January 31, 2026, at the University of Mindanao Tagum College. The event was
facilitated by the Junior Confederation of Finance Associations Philippines
(JCFAP), Davao Chapter, and carried the theme “Bridging the Gap: Advancing
Financial Access Towards Inclusive Progress.”
The
caravan brought together delegates from 12 colleges and universities across
Regions XI and XII, providing a venue for collaboration, learning, and the
exchange of ideas among aspiring finance professionals. Discussions and
activities focused on financial literacy, responsible money management, and the
importance of expanding financial access to promote inclusive growth within
communities.
Through
the participation of the Junior Financial Management Executives, Central
Mindanao Colleges reaffirmed its commitment to developing financially informed,
socially responsible, and leadership-driven students. The exposure gained from
the regional gathering strengthened the participants’ competence and confidence
as future professionals in the field of finance.
The
initiative aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),
particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting financial literacy and
lifelong learning; SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, through empowering
youth with financial skills essential for economic participation; and SDG 10:
Reduced Inequalities, by advocating broader financial access and inclusion.
These goals highlight the role of education and youth engagement in building a
more inclusive and sustainable economy.
